Description
Bean Bush, Mexican Red (p. vulgaris)
Also known as Montezuma Red. This bean was popular in California since the mid-1800s but fairly rare now. Montezuma red beans are smaller than red kidney beans. It takes longer to mature than other bush beans but well worth it. Insufficient sunlight or constant overcast weather will make this bean turn into climbers. Very productive and Superb for baking.
