Gourd, Bitter Melon White (Momordica charantia)

Also known as Momordica charantia or balsam pear. It is cultivated around the world for edible fruit and medicinal purposes.  The immature fruit is soaked in saltwater to remove a bitter flavour, and then cooked as a vegetable. They can also be used in curries and pickles. Strong climber.
