Also spelled loofah. Young fruits are edible like zucchini, use mature fruit as bath sponges or dishcloths.

It requires long growing season and warm temperature. If you live in a frosty zone be sure to start early indoors in a pot well before planting out after the last frost. Easy to grow and high yield.
