Potato Désirée

Désirée is originally bred in the Netherlands in 1962. It produces large, elongated tubers with an oval to cylindrical shape. The skin is smooth, semi-glossy, and bright red, bearing a few, very shallow eyes. it is very well suited as a general-purpose red potato.

Growing detail: Potatoes grow well in good- drained, fertile soil with a PH of 6.0- 7.0 Potatoes can be planted in early to mid-Spring as they can tolerate cool soil and moderate frost.

Cut tubers into pieces roughly 3cm cube with at least one eye per piece. Small tubers can be planted whole. Potato shoots will emerge 2- 3 weeks later.
