Tomato, Red Fig (S. lycopersicum)
This beautiful heirloom tomato dating back to the 1700s. Popular in the mid-1800s. Named after its Fig-like shape and it was used as a substitute for figs in preserving during winter. Excellent choice of tomato for using in salad, making chutney, and snacking. Red Fig is a tasty and colourful complement to Beam's Yellow Pear.
